Navigating Polyamory with Queer Male Clients

 Available On Demand!

This was an excellent workshop - informative, engaging, thorough, and culturally sensitive. (Anonymous)

Therapists and wellness providers, are you current on how to best support clients in open relationships or who are considering pursuing one? Participants of our workshop will be introduced to the various types of open relationships – including those involving multiple partners and the agreements that may be made among individuals who practice them.

Special attention will be given to topics such as trust, communication, jealousy, sexual health maintenance, multiple relational demands on time and energy, and open relationships' potential benefits and risks.

The workshop will also include an understanding of different types of counseling interventions that are available and appropriate, considering ethical considerations when providing services related to non-heteronormative sexualities, relationships, and orientations. The workshop will also discuss topics related to intersectionality – such as race, gender identity/expression, socio-economic status, and power dynamics among people in non-monogamous relationships.

Continuing Education Units: Two Units.

What People Are Saying:

This workshop was very helpful as an introduction for working with individuals and couples opting for CNM relationships, and a great opportunity to reflect on your own biases and misconceptions.

Workshop attendee

The workshop was really fantastic. It was my first introduction to an area I care about supporting greatly, presented in approachable and normalized ways by a great team. Dinko presents the info in a way that is engaging and not dry, and he encourages folks to explore bias if that comes up - something I don't often hear reminded to us clinicians enough.
